Progress of the North Congo Forest Landscape Project
The 4th Steering Committee of the North Congo Forest Landscape Project (PPFNC) was held last week in Brazzaville, under the chairmanship of the Director of the Cabinet of the Ministry of Forest Economy (MEF), Mr Pierre Taty.
It was an opportunity for the PPFNC team, led by TEREA in partnership with AGRECO GEIE, CIRAD and Wildlife Conservation Society, to present the actions carried out by the project in 2022. A year rich in activities, which has seen in particular :
- The strengthening of the collaboration with the services of the Ministry of Forest Economy for the creation and improvement of a certain number of tools for monitoring the implementation of forest management;
- Accompanying forestry companies in improving their practices;
- The implementation of pilot projects in the Community Development Series;
- Actions in the fight against poaching in the North Congo Forest Landscape.
The COPIL confirmed the support and mobilisation of the Ministry of Forest Economy in the implementation of PPFNC activities.
