Participation in the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the extension of Léon Mba airport

As part of the development of Gabon's airport offering, the project developer wishes to build a new terminal at Libreville's Leon Mba International Airport. This new terminal will improve the passenger experience and compliance issues of the airport and will allow to increase the capacity (flights and passengers) of the airport in the long term.

Within the scope of this project TEREA has performed the following activities:

  • Elaboration and submission of the Project Brief
  • Review and submission of the Terms of Reference and participation in the scoping meeting
  • Data collection for the initial assessment:
    • Air sampling campaign
    • Surface water, groundwater and soil sampling campaign
    • Noise measurement campaign
    • Social study and stakeholder engagement
    • Archaeological survey and cultural heritage
    • Initial assessment of terrestrial and aquatic biodiversity
    • Characterisation of transport flows
    • Landscape characterisation
  • Carrying out public consultations
  • Review of the ESIA, submission and participation in the validation meeting
